STEP has many opportunities for people to get hands on technical experience with the latest renewable energy technology. This activity requires a lot of coordination and leadership skills. Grow and foster these skills and understand what it takes to lead a large team of people.
STEP needs volunteers who are interested in any of the following areas:
Our working group director is Abhinay Kondamreddy. You can find him in the Project Development team.
STEP's Engineering section is varied from our large long-term projects, to our smaller hands on projects. Volunteers in this section are involved in the building and design of our bike generators, our solar cooker projects, as well as the creation and execution of student engineering workshops.

STEP is heavily involved in various community events such as UW Canada Day, Term concerts, Educational Booths, and collaborating events with other sustainability organizations including WPRIG and SPARK. Volunteers in this section involve themselves in planning and organizing events. There are many aspects to an event to be involved in, including: media/advertisement, administrative, and sponsorship.
The project development team is a very important part of STEP. Through Corporate sponsorship and event fundraising STEP is able to fund it's large solar projects and various community educational initiatives. Volunteers in this section use and obtain valuable business skills in speech communication, proposal writing, documentation writing, and presentation skills.
